Installation

Getting started is easy. Just download the installer package that matches your operating system (Windows or macOS) and run it to begin installation.

Configuration (Config Window)

The configuration window allows you to manage your account, view keyboard shortcuts, and customize the app's behavior and appearance.

You can access the configuration window by clicking the Stealth Helper icon in your system tray.

Account

In the Account tab, you can:

• Log in to an existing account.
• Sign up for a new account.
• Reset your password.
• View your login status.
• Log out of your account.

Logging in is required to enable the screen capture and AI features.

The application will indicate your API status (online/offline) and your login status.

Hotkeys

The Hotkeys tab lists all available keyboard shortcuts. Some shortcuts are only available when you are logged in.

Preferences

The Preferences tab allows you to fine-tune the behavior and appearance of Stealth Helper:

• AI Model Selection: Choose between supported models (e.g., Gemini, Deepseek, OpenAI) for different types of questions.
• Code Language: Set your preferred programming language to get tailored explanations or syntax highlighting.
• Overlay Appearance: Customize the font style, text size, and background color of the overlay window for readability and comfort.

The configuration window will automatically hide after a short period of inactivity when you are logged in. You can toggle the visibility of both the configuration and overlay windows using the shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+T on Windows/Linux or Cmd+Shift+T on macOS.

Using Stealth Helper (Overlay Window)

The main functionality of Stealth Helper is accessed via a screen capture hotkey which activates an overlay window where the AI's response will appear.

Screen Capture and AI Answer

• To capture your screen and get an answer from the AI, use the hotkey: Ctrl+Shift+O (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+O (MacOS). This hotkey is only active when you are logged in.
• Upon pressing the hotkey, a transparent overlay window will appear.
• The application will perform OCR on the captured area for basic accounts, while premium accounts will have their captured images sent directly to the AI.
• While the AI is processing, the overlay will show a "Thinking..." message.
• Once the AI provides an answer, it will appear in the overlay window.

Overlay Interaction Hotkeys

The overlay window is transparent and click-through by default, so it won’t interrupt your work. You can interact with it using the following hotkeys:

• Scroll answer up: Ctrl+I
• Scroll answer down: Ctrl+M
• Scroll answer left: Ctrl+J
• Scroll answer right: Ctrl+L
• Move overlay window left: Ctrl+D
• Move overlay window right: Ctrl+G
• Decrease transparency: Ctrl+[
• Increase transparency: Ctrl+]
• Clear answer: Ctrl+Shift+C (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+C (MacOS)
• Abort query: Ctrl+Shift+A (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+A (MacOS)

General Hotkeys

These hotkeys are available regardless of your login status:

• Toggle visibility of the config and overlay windows: Ctrl+Shift+T (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+T (MacOS)
• Quit the application: Ctrl+Q (Windows) or Cmd+Q (MacOS)

System Tray Icon

The Stealth Helper icon in your system tray provides quick access to the application's main functions:

• Clicking the icon will toggle the visibility of the configuration window.
• (Only in MacOS) Right-clicking the icon will open a context menu with options to:
  • Open or Hide the Configuration window
  • Show or Hide the Overlay window
  • Logout
  • Quit the application

Closing the configuration or overlay windows will not quit the application; it will continue running in the background. To fully close Stealth Helper, use the Quit option from the system tray or the Quit hotkey.

Feature Overview with Screenshots

1. Account Management

The account management tab includes login, sign-up, and status indicators for API and user authentication. You must be logged in to activate the overlay capture and AI features. The UI provides feedback on login status and supports password resets.

2. Hotkey Settings

The Hotkey tab in the configuration window displays all available keyboard shortcuts. It allows users to view and remember combinations for capturing screenshots, interacting with the overlay, and managing the app. Shortcuts adapt automatically for macOS or Windows.

For Windows users, use Ctrl instead of Cmd.

3. Preferences

The Preferences tab lets you tailor Stealth Helper to your workflow by choosing the AI model, code language, and the overlay’s text and background colors.

4. AI Interaction with Screenshot Input

After triggering the capture hotkey, Stealth Helper shows a transparent overlay displaying a real-time "Thinking..." status. Once the AI responds, the result—like explanations for code or answers to technical questions—appears in a translucent floating window.

The overlay window is transparent and click-through by default, so it won’t interrupt your work. You can move its position, scroll to browse answers, adjust opacity, and use hotkeys to clear or abort AI responses—designed for stealthy, seamless use.

Q&A

Q: What does "The model is overloaded. Please try again later." mean?

This message appears when the selected AI model is currently handling too many requests. It's a temporary issue caused by high usage.

Q: What can I do when this happens?

• Wait and try again: In most cases, the issue resolves itself in a few moments. Simply retry your query after a short pause.
• Switch to a different model: Open the Preferences tab and select an alternate model (e.g., Gemini, OpenAI, Deepseek) that may be less congested.

Q: Does this affect my account or data?

No. This is a server-side limitation related to model usage. Your data and account are unaffected.

Q: How can I reduce the chance of seeing this error?

• Use less common models during peak hours.
• Try accessing the AI assistant during off-peak times (early morning or late evening).

Q: Why is the overlay window not visible when using DisplayLink or docking stations?

If your external monitor is connected via a USB docking station using DisplayLink technology, the application window may not appear or render correctly. The application is set to prevent screen recording, screenshots, or live previews, which can interfere with content rendering on virtual displays like DisplayLink.
